Walter Lewis McPherson, 88, of Philpot

PHILPOT, Ky. – Walter Lewis McPherson, 88, of Philpot, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 5th, 2014, at the Heartford House, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 2, 1925, in Daviess County to the late Ollie and Mamie Foster McPherson. Walter was a dairy farmer for 50 years and loved farming his land. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Louise Roberts, and grand-daughter, Autumn Nicole McPherson.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Rose Wedding McPherson of 63 years; sons, Walter McPherson, Jr. (Leslie), and John McPherson; daughters, Terri Luellen (Randy) and Kim Woodall (Mark); grandchildren, Chad McPherson, Heather Zembrycki (Chad), Ashley Holderby (Rob), Kara Miller (John), Benjamin and Aaron McPherson, and Jackson and Madison Woodall; step-grandchild, Garrett Pointer (Ashley); great-grandchildren, Tanner, Kinleigh and Graham Miller, Caydence and Colten Holderby, Kyla, Brooklyn and Brynlee Zembrycki; and sisters, Grace Stephens and Edna Taylor.

Services will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday and after 8:30 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Heartford House, 2914 Old Hartford Road, Owensboro, Ky. 42303
