Betty Daugherty Girten, 69, of Owensboro, Ky.

OWENSBORO, Ky. – Betty Daugherty Girten, 69, of Owensboro, Ky. passed away July 9, 2014 at Heartford House in Owensboro. She was born September 14, 1944 in Owensboro to the late Thomas and Geneva Daugherty. She had been employed in the Trust Department of Citizens State Bank and retired from US Bank in mortgage processing. She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling, taking pictures and spending time with her grandchildren and family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tilton "Hick" Girten on January 4, 2014 and by two brothers, James and Stephen Daugherty.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Penny and Jimmy Payne of Reed, Ky.; two grandchildren, J.T. and Brianna Payne; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gene and Thelma Daugherty of Owensboro and Vic and Debbie Daugherty of Centertown, Ky.; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Rena and Jimmy Banks of Hawesville, Ky. and Patty and Randall Scott of Utica, Ky.

Services are 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2014, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Burial is in Sorgho Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation is from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday and after 9:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heartford House, Hospice of Western Kentucky, 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, Ky. 42301.
