Della C. Keown, 86, of Owensboro

 

obit16OWENSBORO, KY - Della C. Keown, 86, of Owensboro, went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at Owensboro Medical Health System surrounded by all her family.

She was born on May 23, 1925 in Grayson Co., KY to the late Dewey and Pearl Blessed Clemons. She was retired from General Electric having worked in the Tube Department. Della was a member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church where she had been a Sunday School teacher for 42 years. She enjoyed U.K. basketball, vegetable gardening, canning, and spending lots of time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester F. Keown on December 17, 2001.

Surviving are her two sons, Gary Keown and wife Retha of Owensboro and Jerry Keown and wife Evelyn of Knottsville, seven grandchildren, Sherry (Brian) Helson, Robert (Trish) Saunders, Melanie (Lewis) Montgomery, Jim Heep, Phil (Jane) Durham, Susan (Joe) Anderson, and Tammy (Roger) Lillpop, 14 great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, November 11, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday and after 8:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.
