John W. Blunk, 82, of Owensboro, KY

obitshipOWENSBORO, KY -  John W. Blunk, 82, of Owensboro, KY  passed away Saturday, November 12, 2011, at his home.

He was born on October 23, 1929 in Owensboro, Kentucky to the late John and Jessie Blunk. He was retired from Alcan Aluminum as an electrician. He was a member of Walnut Memorial Baptist Church and enjoyed golf, University of Kentucky Basketball, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. John was also an Army Veteran. He is preceded in death by two sisters; Laura and Lena.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Margorie Blunk; a son, John Wesley Blunk, Jr. of Owensboro; his daughter, Lisa Turner (Roger) of Owensboro; three grandchildren, Stephen Turner (Katie), Carrie Turner (Jake) and Roger R. Turner all of Owensboro; six great grandchildren; Kamron, Morgan, Madalyn, Kylie, Trey, and Maci, two sisters; Hatie Brown of Florida and Midge Nusbaum of South Bend, IN, and several nieces & nephews.

Services are at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow in Lewisport Cemetery in Lewisport, KY with Military Honors. Visitation is from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and after 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donation to Hospice of Western Kentucky, 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, KY 42301.
