Wanda Ewing Simmons, 68, of Owensboro, KY

obit11OWENSBORO, KY -  Wanda Ewing Simmons, 68, of Owensboro, KY departed this life on November 9, 2011, at her home in Benton, AR.

She was born May 3, 1943 to the late Gilbert Martin Ewing and Georgie Dester Ralph. She was a Christian woman who dearly loved to sew, do crafts and shop, but most of all she loved to cook for friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Author "Pete" Simmons; three brothers, Darrell Ewing, Butch Ewing, and Steve Ewing and two sisters, Gloriadean Ewing and Gail Cecil.

She is survived by a brother, Bobby Ewing and wife, Geri of Hot Springs, AR; six children, Sheree Sparks and husband, Darrel, Melody Renfroe and her fiancee Robert, Martin Beals and wife, Tammy, of Hot Springs, AR, Glenn Gibson and wife, Shellie of Hot Springs, AR, Carin Duvall and husband, Stacy of Benton, AR, Carmen Gibson and Chrissy and family of Hot Springs, AR; twelve grandchildren, Heathe Sparks, Jason Renfroe and wife, Nicole, Jenee Renfroe, Sam Beals, Megan and Haley Moore, Jackie and Heather Lanham, Sheena Gibson and Dallas, Katreena Gibson and Clayton, Jeremy Cambron, and Jonathan Cambron; seven great grandchildren, Jacob, Joscelyn, Jaleigh and Jordan Renfroe, Kori Beals, Jayden Freeman and Kenzy Moore, and her loving Shi-Tzu, Lacy.

Pallbearers are Jason Renfroe, Sam Beals, Darrel Sparks, Heathe Sparks, Coty Cecil, Austin Cooper, Dean Ewing and Dinky Pryor. Honorary pallbearers are Jeremy Cambron, Jonathan Cambron, Larry Ralph and David Simmons.

Services are at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 14, 2011, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 12:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday and after 12:00 noon on Monday at the funeral home.
