Donald W. Sloyer, 91, of Owensboro, KY

 

obit14OWENSBORO, KY - Donald W. Sloyer, 91, of Owensboro, KY passed away November 15, 2011 at Owensboro Medical Health System.

He was born on October 22, 1920 in Plainfield Township, Pennsylvania to the late Vernon and Laura Sloyer. He was a member of Wesleyan Heights United Methodist Church and an Army veteran of World War II. He retired from General Electric Company and the Office of PVA.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Sloyer who passed away January 6, 2004, and by two brothers and a sister.

Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy & Bob Koepplinger of Perryville, KY and Becky & John Walker of Maceo, KY; three granddaughters, Karin & Jim Wedding of Ekron, KY, Tracy & Bill Parcel of St. Charles, MO, Laura Walker of Denver, CO; one grandson, Matt & Chrissy Walker of Knoxville, TN, and four great grandsons, Jacob Parcel of St. Charles, MO, Stephen Wedding of Ekron, KY and Laken and Lyell Walker both of Knoxville, TN..

Services are at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2011, at Wesleyan Heights United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Thursday at Wesleyan Heights United Methodist Church. James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro is in charge of arrangements. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Wesleyan Heights United Methodist Church, 1215 Scherm Road, Owensboro, KY 42301 or to a charity of your choice.
