Kenneth J. Peters, 74, Owensboro

 

obit18OWENSBORO, KY - Kenneth J. Peters, 74, Owensboro, passed away Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, at his home.

He was born on Jan. 7, 1937, in Henderson County to the late James G. Peters and Josie Daniels Peters. He was retired from Peters Construction Co. as superintendent. Mr. Peters was a member of Advance Baptist Church in Baskett. He also was a member of the NRA and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Williams and Shirley Peters.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Evans Peters; his children, Kristine Peters and Dale Askins, both of Owensboro, Kathy Bornstein and her husband, Keith, of Indianapolis and Karen Stewart and her husband, Terry, of Hawesville; one sister, Judy Newman of Henderson; five brothers, Ronald Peters and Donald Peters, both of Henderson, Eddie Peters and Larry Peters, both of West Louisville, and Joey Peters of Curdsville, Ky.; seven grandchildren, Amanda Ashley O'Toole and her husband, Joe, David Zachary Hagan and his wife, Karesa Sims, Sarah Elizabeth Hagan and her husband, Johnny Lile, Ryan Matthew Peters, Morgan Alexander Peters, Jamie Lynn Baldwin and Madelynn Sauer; five great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Lucas, Trey, Dixie Lynn and Bailey; and special family friend, Billy Brown of Owensboro.

Services will be at noon Thursday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home. Brother Ray Estes will officiate. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens in Owensboro.

Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or Hospice of Western Kentucky. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
