Judith (Judy) Mae Haggard, 58 of Owensboro

 

obit12OWENSBORO, KY - Judith (Judy) Mae Haggard, 58 of Owensboro, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2011, at Owensboro Medical Health System.

She was born on April 7, 1953, in Worcester, Massachusetts to the late G. Clayton "Tex" and Mary Litkenhus Haggard. She was a member of Immaculate Catholic Church. She was retired from the Opportunity Center Workshop. She enjoyed collecting angels, bowling, sewing, snipping, dancing and listening to music. Most of all, Judy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She never met a stranger and her motto for life was "You're supposed to love everybody."

Aside from her parents she was preceded in death by two nephews, Matthew and Adam Beckman.

She is survived by a sister, Linda (Dave) Beckman of Owensboro; a nephew, Jason (Hillary) Beckman and their daughter, Madisyn Beckman of Allen, TX; and a niece, Stephanie Beckman of Lexington, Ky.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Catholic Church with the Reverend Tony Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 9 to 11 a.m. at Wendell Foster's Campus in the Young Building located at 815 Triplett Street. Visitation will also be held from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home and on Tuesday from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Prayers will be said Monday at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Judy Haggard Memorial Fund, c/o Wendell Foster's Campus, 815 Triplett Street, Owensboro, KY 42303. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
