Thorton Johnson, 72 of Beaver Dam

 

orangesunsetOWENSBORO, KY - Thorton Johnson, 72 of Beaver Dam, passed away, Sunday, November 20, 2011 at Dawson Springs Health & Rehab in Dawson Springs, KY.

He was born January 23, 1939 in Baizetown, KY to the late Homer & Arzina Embry Johnson. He was a retired carpenter and a member of the Church of Christ at Beaver Dam.

Beside his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Sam Johnson, brothers, Randal Johnson & Chelcie Johnson.

Survivors include his wife, Maxine Snodgrass Johnson of Beaver Dam, two sons, Matthew (Christy) Johnson of Marion, Illinois and Terry Joe (Erva) Johnson of Amber, Oklahoma, four daughters, Carla (David) Abbott of Bowling Green, KY, Patty (Greg) Willoughby, of Morgantown, KY, Donna (Brad) Johnson of Orlando, FL, & Brenda (Danny) Raymer of Beaver Dam, two brothers, Milford (Shirell) Johnson of McHenry, KY and Hillard Johnson of Baizetown, KY. Mr. Johnson was blessed with 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00AM Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, with Mike Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Baizetown, KY. Visitation will be from 4-8PM, Monday and 9AM until time of service on Tuesday at the Funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
