Othello Ben Jones II, 55, Owensboro

 

obit20OWENSBORO, KY - Othello Ben Jones II, 55, Owensboro, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, at St. Anthony's Hospice in Henderson.

Born in Warren County, Ky., he served on the Bowling Green Fire Department prior to entering the manufactured housing business. For many years, he owned and operated One Stop Manufactured Homes in Owensboro and was involved in sales until the time of his retirement.

He had served on the board of directors of the Kentucky Manufactured Housing Institute specifically in the areas of planning and zoning.

He was a member of Walnut Memorial Baptist Church and was a Kentucky Colonel.

He was preceded in death by his father, Othello Jones I.

Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Bennett Jones, who is a Henderson native; his daughter, Jennifer Lynn Jones of Louisville; his mother, Mary C. Medcalf of Owensboro; his sister, Judy Marie Matthews and her husband, Joe, of Louisville; his nieces and nephews, Sharon Matthews, Sherri Cooper, Jenny Lou Hudson, Audra Walker, Pierce Walker and Jessica Williams; and his great nephews, Matthew Cooper, Kyle Cooper and J.D. Elder.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. The Rev. Jeff Hicks will officiate. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery in Henderson.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Saturday and the funeral home.
