Frances Burns Abney, 85, formerly of Roosevelt House I, Owensboro, KY

 

1cloudsOWENSBORO, KY - Frances Burns Abney, 85, formerly of Roosevelt House I, Owensboro, KY passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at Hillcrest Health Care Center in Owensboro.

She was born on January 28, 1926 to the late Oscar and Fannie Strayn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Jerry Abney and grandson, William Royce Burns, Jr.

The family would like to thank Dr. Tamberly McCoy, Mary Ann Thomas and staff of Hillcrest Health Care, especially those who helped her master her pitching arm for Heaven.

She is survived by three daughters, Diane Thompson (Jim) of Utica, KY, Pam Johnson (Robert) of Owensboro and Ginger Miller (Jim) of Tell City, IN; two sons, William Billy Burns (Annie) of Utica, KY and Perry Lee Abney (Amy) of Drakesboro, KY; a sister, Billie Gabbert (Max) of Owensboro; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and her friend, Darline Thomasson.

Services are at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2011, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Burial will follow in Calhoun Cemetery in Calhoun, KY. Visitation is from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday and after 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
