OWENSBORO, KY - Robert L. Scrivner, lovingly known as "Pa" or "Mr. Bob" to many, peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, November 30, 2011, under the watchful care of the wonderful staff at Owensboro Medical Health System.
Bob was born in Eldon, Missouri on October 19, 1930. He was a graduate of Eldon High School, Southwest Baptist College, Boliver, Missouri and Union University in Jackson, TN. He also attended Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY. He retired from Procter & Gamble and had served as Interim Pastor to many churches in Owensboro and the surrounding area. He was a former member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church and a current member of First Baptist Church, Owensboro. He was a member of the Owensboro Antique Car Club.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Dorris Earl and Thelma Scrivner; brothers, Don and Bill, and two precious granddaughters, Kelsey and Kerrie Barton.
He is survived by his loving wife, Betty; his children, Mike Scrivner (Georgene) of Frankfort, KY, Susan Dockery (Jerry) of Owensboro, Patti Barton (Brad) of Evansville, IN, Vicki Goins (Clint) of Frankfort, KY; grandchildren, Melissa Scrivner, Autumn Head, Jared Dockery, Nick Bratcher, Amanda Bratcher, Kaitlyn Barton, Tate Goins and Reid Goins; his brother, Ed Scrivner of Booneville, MO and five great grandchildren. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
Services are at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2011, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Burial will follow in Yellow Creek Cemetery in Thruston, KY. Visitation is from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:00 a.m. until the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are requested to First Baptist Church, Mavericks Sunday School Class Benevolence Fund, P.O. Box 904, Owensboro, KY 42302.
