Margie Givens, 84, of Hartford

 

4flowerHARTFORD, KY - Margie Givens, 84, of Hartford, passed away, Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Ohio County Hospital in Hartford. She was born April 2, 1927 in McHenry, KY to the late Robert Keno and Laura Thompson Mathis. She was a member of Christian Fellowship in Beaver Dam and a homemaker.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Robert “Bob” Givens who passed away, February 23, 1989, one son, Gregory Norman Givens, one grandson, Kelly Chinn, nine brothers and sisters, Mable Daugherty, Joe Mathis, Marvin Mathis, Clara Duggard, Robert Mathis, Jewell Mathis, Carl Mathis, Verda Mathis, and Ordra Mathis.

Survivors include one son, Mike Givens and wife, Ann of Crossville, TN., three daughters, Jackie Decker and husband, Dale of Beaver Dam, Terri Baggarly and husband, Jamie of Echols, and Paula Baggarly of Rockport, six grandsons, Scott Givens, Eric Givens, Jason Decker, Jarrod Decker, Bryon Chinn, and Jeremy Chinn, two granddaughters, Annie Wilson and Meagan Baggarly, eight great grandchildren, Braden Givens, Evan Decker, Kalea Brown, Brock Decker, Alexis Decker, Jessica Chinn, Michael Chinn, Aiden Chinn, and Mercedes Minton, and one great great grandson, Jaxson Chinn.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Saturday, December 3, 2011 at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, with Rev. Recie Young officiating. Burial will be in Echols Cemetery in Echols. Visitation will be from 4-8PM, Friday and 9AM until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice of Ohio County. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
