Bruce Elmo Kenney, Jr., 87, of Owensboro, Kentucky

 

sunrise1OWENSBORO, KY - Bruce Elmo Kenney, Jr., 87, of Owensboro, Kentucky passed away Sunday, December 4, 2011, at Colonial Terrace in Sebree, KY.

He was born on February 18, 1924 in Ulrich, Ohio. He was the owner of Owensboro Insurance Agency and a graduate of Kentucky Wesleyan College. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II. He was of the Methodist faith, a member of Windridge Country Club, Masonic Lodge #957, and the Rizpah Shrine Temple. He was an avid gardener and an artist and enjoyed painting, playing golf and U of L basketball.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bruce Kenney; his mother and stepfather, Emma Jones Morehead and Edward Morehead and two sisters, Lovell Kenney and Gladys Gandee.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Celine Kenney; his daughter, Kay Dotson and husband, Kevin of Owensboro; two sons, Bruce Kenney, III and wife, Mitzi of Charleston WV and Mark Kenney and fiancé, Tonya Castlen of Owensboro; two grandchildren, Cody Thompson and wife, Christy and Aaron Thompson and wife, Summer; several great grandchildren; several step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. There will be no services. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the donor's favorite charity.
