Shirlene B. Dant 73, of Calhoun, Kentucky

 

obit12CALHOUN, KY - Shirlene B. Dant 73, of Calhoun, Kentucky passed away Monday, December 5, 2011 at the Owensboro Medical Health System.

Shirlene Bivens was born June 5, 1938 in Daviess County, Kentucky to the late Dewey Haynes and Theresa Devine Bivens and was married to Marvin Wilbur Dant on August 21, 1954. Shirlene retired from Carhart of Sebree and was a member of the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in St. Joseph. She also enjoyed reading, and spending time with both her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her parents,

Shirlene was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Hill.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Marvin Dant; a son and his wife, Eddie and Barbara Dant of Elba; a daughter and her husband, Justine and Keith Wiggins of Elba; 7 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 5 step great grandchildren; two brothers, Ronnie Bivens and Donnie Bivens both of Utica; and three sisters, Ann Scott of Glenville, Sandy Donahoo of Calhoun, and Bonnie Layne of Owensboro.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church with Father Raymond Goetz officiating. Burial will be in the St. Benedict Cemetery in Beech Grove. Friends may visit with Shirlene’s Family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday and from 8:00 A.M. until 9:15 A.M. Wednesday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel. Prayer services for Shirlene Dant with a video tribute of her life will be held at 6:00 P.M. Tuesday at Musters in Calhoun.

The Shirlene B. Dant Family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the St. Benedict Cemetery Fund; C/O St. Sebastian Catholic Church; 180 Kentucky 136 West; Calhoun, Kentucky 42327. Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Calhoun.
