Peggy Sue Wright, 72, of Owensboro, Kentucky

 

obit17OWENSBORO, KY - Peggy Sue Wright, 72, of Owensboro, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at Owensboro Medical Health System.

She was born on October 12, 1939 in Owensboro to the late William Delbert and Lillie Mae Thompson. She was of the Catholic faith. Peggy was a homemaker and co-owner of Jim Wright Painting. She enjoyed cooking, canning, reading, music, birds, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Joseph William Wright, on July 27, 2000 and an infant daughter, Jennifer Wright on August 26, 1968.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, James Wright; four daughters, Sherry Cline, Shelly Scalf, Nanci Williams (Phillip) and Amy Wright all of Owensboro; two sons, Brad Wright (Leigh Anne) and James David Wright both of Owensboro; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; a brother, David H. "Pepper" Thompson (Cassandra) of Owensboro; three sisters, Betty L. Drury, Margie Whitney and Joann Hedges all of Owensboro and several nieces and nephews.

Services are at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 9, 2011, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday and after 10:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Susan G.
