Bill Gieseke, 91, of Calhoun, Kentucky

 

5sunsetCALHOUN, KY - Bill Gieseke, 91, of Calhoun, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at the Riverside Manor Health Care Center in Calhoun.

Vivian Clyde Gieseke was born May 20, 1920 in McLean County, Kentucky to the late Clarence Julian and Daisy Pearl Shamwell Gieseke, was married to the former Martha Elizabeth Case on January 19, 1939, and was better known as “Bill” by both his family and friends. Bill was a carpenter and retired as a bus driver from the McLean County Board of Education. He was a member of the Calhoun Holiness Church, where he served as treasurer, trustee, and Sunday School Teacher for 60 years and also enjoyed woodworking.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Martha Gieseke, who passed away May 5, 1991.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Cinda Jane and Shelly Ranburger of Owensboro; a son and his wife, Paul Wayne and Brenda Gieseke of West Louisville; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Ginger and Bobby Johnson, Shelly Ranburger, Jr., Paul and Karen Ranburger, Dennis and Carla Ranburger, Regina and Lance Wilson, Paula Gieseke, and John Gieseke; thirteen great grandchildren, Brandon Johnson, Adam Ranburger, Lindsey Sexton, Megan Ranburger, Caitlin Ranburger, Kaylee Ranburger, Chris Ranburger, Ashlee Tapp, Stephanie Whayne, Amanda Fogle, Zach Ranburger, Colby Wilson, and Anthony Wilson; eight great great grandchildren, Lauren Hoover, Alexis Sexton, Hunter Sexton, Noah Ranburger, Paisleigh Wilson, Jaxson Ranburger, Isaac Tapp, and Bryleigh Gieseke; two brothers, Ray Gieseke and Hubert Gieseke both of Calhoun; and two sisters, Mary Ethel Voss of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Daisy Soper of Winter Park, Florida.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with Dr. Richard Sams officiating. Burial will be in the Calhoun Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Bill’s Family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday and from 11:00 A.M. until time of services Saturday at Musters in Calhoun.

The Bill Gieseke Family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Calhoun Cemetery, Beautification Fund; C/O Winfred Williams; P.O. Box 201; Calhoun, Kentucky 42327. Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Calhoun.
