Shirley Sallee 73, of Rumsey, Kentucky

 

6flowerRUMSEY, KY - Shirley Sallee 73, of Rumsey, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at her home.

Shirley Ann McCarty was born September 28, 1938 in Daviess County, Kentucky to the late Marion Lewis and Francis Lucille Freels McCarty and was married to James Thomas Sallee, Sr. on October 21, 1957. Shirley was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Owensboro. She also enjoyed working puzzles, watching her birds, and spending time with both her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, James “Jim” Sallee, who passed away October 18, 2006 and by a son, Ronnie Sallee.

Survivors include a son, Tommy Sallee of Calhoun; seven daughters, Judy Conway of Bremen, Pattie Hill of Rumsey, Rita Fenwick of Owensboro, Regina Mauzy of Beech Grove, Debbie Daniels of Rumsey, Carolyn Clark of Calhoun, and Brenda Hardin of Slaughters; 17 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and her special friends, Tabatha Sutton, Annie Crawford, and Patty Merrimee.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Sunday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Elder Scott Sallee officiating. Burial will be in the Calhoun Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Shirley’s Family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Saturday and from 10:30 A.M. until time of services Sunday at Musters in Calhoun.

The Shirley Sallee Family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Shirley Sallee, Memorial Fund; C/O Muster Funeral Homes; P.O. Box 160; Calhoun, Kentucky 42327. Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Calhoun.
