George R. Webster, 76 of Owensboro, KY

 

obit21OWENSBORO, KY - George R. Webster, 76 of Owensboro, KY, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2011 at his home. He was born on April 16, 1935 in Owensboro to the late Robert Lee Webster and Sylvia Canary Webster.

He was a carpenter and a US Air Force veteran during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral, American Legion, VFW and AmVets. He enjoyed fishing, cooking and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Herbert Webster and Frank Webster; a sister, Irene Griffith, a grandson, Corey Webster, and a daughter-in-law, Beth Webster.

Surviving is his wife, Shelby Payne Webster, his children, Sherry(Jerry)Maglinger, Pam(Mike)Lewis, Tracy(David)Hunter, Tommy(Debbie)Webster, Chris(Linda)Webster and Robert Webster all of Owensboro, KY. He had twelve grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his brothers, David Webster of Owensboro and Gene Webster of Texas and a sister, Carolyn Anthony of Owensboro, KY.

Services will be at 9:30am. Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Blessed Sacrament. Visitation at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home from 2:00 to 8:00pm. Wednesday and from 8:00 to 9:00am. Thursday.

Prayers will be said at 5:00pm. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Father Brandon Williams will officiate. Military honors will be provided by the US Air Force. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
