William E. (Bill) Underhill, 63, of Owensboro, KY

 

sunrise1OWENSBORO, KY - William E. (Bill) Underhill, 63, of Owensboro, KY passed away Saturday, December 17, 2011, at Owensboro Medical Health System.

He was born November 1, 1948 in Owensboro. He retired from Ashland Oil Company and was a member of Owensboro Christian Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, his two dogs, Augie and Jack, coaching softball and baseball and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his father, Everett Underhill, Jr.; a grandson, Chandler Underhill on November 11, 1997; a brother, Mike Underhill on May 7, 2009 and by brothers-in-law, R.C. Jackson and Billy Harrington.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Jeanie Harrington Underhill; a daughter and son-in-law, Whitney and Scott Stacy of Owensboro; a son, Paul Underhill and fiancé, Jaclyn Grey of Owensboro; five grandchildren, Emma, Chloe, Addie, Lauren and Pierce; his mother, Helen Underhill of Owensboro; two brothers, David Underhill and wife, Betty and Raymond Underhill and wife, Kim; a sister, Pat Atherton and husband, W.B. of Owensboro; sisters-in-law, Mikie Underhill, Margerite Jackson, Suzanne Harrington and Joan Sullivan and husband, Don; brothers-in-law, Bobby Harrington and wife, Leah and Larry Harrington and wife, Hadley and several nieces and nephews.

Services are at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Burial will follow in Sorgho Baptist Church Cemetery in Sorgho, KY. Visitation is from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and after 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Sorgho Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 3083 Hwy. 1554, Owensboro, KY 42301.lin
