Robert Lewis Hartley, 84, of Owensboro

 

sunsetbridgeOWENSBORO, KY - Robert Lewis Hartley, 84, of Owensboro, Kentucky passed away Saturday, December 24, 2011, at Owensboro Medical Health System.

He was born on February 13, 1927 in Harrison, Georgia to the late Cleon and Marie Hartley. He received a bachelor of science degree from Western Kentucky University in 1949. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Hartley retired from Henry's Plumbing & Heating and was a member of Lewis Lane Baptist Church. He was a hard worker that was faithful to his family, his church and Jesus Christ. He will be missed by all, but we will see him again in Heaven.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Hartley on September 1, 2002 and by a brother, Cleon Hartley, Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Eleanor R. Hartley; two sons, Rick Hartley of Lexington, KY and Danny Hartley of Owensboro; two grandsons, Matthew Hartley of Owensboro and Travis Hartley of Tennessee.

Services are at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Entombment will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday and after 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Lewis Lane Baptist Church, 2600 Lewis Lane, Owensboro, KY 42301.
