He was born February 22, 1946 to Claude S. and Edith Arms Mullen in Springfield, Tennessee. He was an Army Veteran during the Vietnam War and was a retired factory worker for Motor Wheel in Lansing, Michigan.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Stone Mullen, his daughter, Corinna Mullen, one sister, Elizabeth Pippin Null and two brothers, Ronald Mullen and Jerry Mullen.
Survivors include one son, Donald Allen Mullen of Rockport, Kentucky, two daughters, Dena Louise Armone and Heather Jean Drury, both of Rockport, Kentucky, his parents, Claude S. Mullen of Beaver Dam and Edith Arms Young of St. Louis, Missouri, one sister, Vicki Mullen of St. Louis, Missouri, three grandchildren, Stephanie Logsdon of Hartford, Brooklynn and Michael Armone of Rockport, Kentucky and two great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Dylan Logsdon, both of Hartford.
Dancing was something Claude has loved to do all his life. If there was a dance somewhere you more than likely saw him there. He danced up until a month before he lost his battle with cancer.
Claude also had another passion which was to help other less fortunate. Through his grandson, he saw firsthand what miracles could be done.
Claude's dying request was to ask others to bring a donation in lieu of flowers to the funeral home. No matter how small it may be it will help toward putting a smile on a child's face. He wanted to raise $240.00, enough to give one child a smile and to donate it to Operation Smile, a non-profit organization which provides free surgeries to repair cleft lip, cleft palate and other facial deformities for children. The family would appreciate any donation to help make his dream come true.
Funeral Service will be held at 11AM Thursday, December 29, 2011 at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Bro. Curtis McGhee officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Visitation will be from 3-8PM Wednesday and from 9AM until the time of service on Friday.
