OWENSBORO, KY - Thomas A. Fountain, Jr., 68, of Owensboro, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at his home. He was born on April 1, 1943 in Owensboro.
He had been employed by Wal-Mart and was a member of Greater Ebeneezer Temple Apostolic Church. He loved Jazz and Gospel music, weightlifting, football, playing pool and reading. His favorite team was the Louisville Cardinals. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Fountain, Sr. and Helen Wilhite Fountain; by two brothers, Calvin Shivley and Clarence Lane and by a sister, Bessie Shivley.
He is survived by his wife of 9 years, Joyce Fountain; two daughters, Paula Turner and Karen Johnson both of Colorado; a son, Tim Fountain of North Carolina; a stepson, Aaron Freeman of Owensboro; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two brothers, James Fountain and David Fountain both of Owensboro; three sisters, Carolyn Scott, Janice Crowe and Dorothy Harris all of Owensboro and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Services are at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2011, at Greater Ebeneezer Temple Apostolic Church, 1528 W. 9th Street, Owensboro. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Sorgho, KY. Visitation is from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. on Saturday at the church. James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro is in charge of arrangements.
