Royce Conley Midkiff, 71, of McHenry

sunsetbridgeOWENSBORO, KY - Royce Conley Midkiff, 71, of McHenry, passed away, Thursday, January 5, 2012 at his residence. He was born July 28, 1940 in Ohio County, KY to the late Con & Bonner Barrett Midkiff. He was of Baptist faith and a general contractor. Royce was a huge University of Kentucky sports fan who never missed a game. He also loved antiques.

Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Sue Midkiff who passed away, October 24, 2003. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, O.L. Midkiff, Barrett Midkiff and Dale Midkiff, one sister, Lucille Richardson, and five brother-in-laws, Bennie Hillard, Larry Hillard, Terry Hillard, Mick Neal and Bill Callahan.

Survivors include one daughter, Sonia (Andy) Fleener of Beaver Dam, son, Michael Midkiff of McHenry, two sisters, Betsey Neal and Barbara Callahan both of Louisville, three sister –in – laws, Ruth Wilson of McHenry, Christine Maiden of Louisville, Violet Midkiff of Lexington, four brother-in- laws, David (Shirley) Hillard of Louisville, Ed Hillard of Newburg, IN., Steve (Elaine) Hillard of Beaver Dam and Frank Richardson of Louisville. He was also blessed with one granddaughter, Cortney Fleener of Beaver Dam. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00PM, Sunday, January 8, 2012 at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, with Rev. Pete Leach officiating. Burial will be in Render Memorial Cemetery in McHenry. Friends may visit with the family from 4-8PM, Saturday and 9AM until time of service Sunday at the funeral home.
