Margaret F. Crabtree, 92, of Owensboro

 

OWENSBORO, KY - Margaret F. Crabtree, 92, of Owensboro, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at her home. She was born March 4, 1919 in Henderson County, Kentucky to the late Henry Fray and Florence Wright Fray. She retired from Westinghouse in 1980 after many years of service. She was a member of New Macedonia Baptist Church and also attended Christ Community of Owensboro.

Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ruby (Duby) Crabtree (1980), 2 brothers, 3 sisters and a great-great-granddaughter, Emily Daugherty.

Surviving is her daughter, Josie Payne of Owensboro, 5 grandchildren, Teri (Tom) Murphy, Donna (Cliff) Crain, Cindy (John) Yates, Greg (Terrie) Payne, and Steve (Tammy) Payne, 17 great-grandchildren, 23 great-great-grandchildren, 3 sisters, Gladys Vandiver of Owensboro, Bonnie Howard of Batavia, IL, Bettie Fray of Owensboro and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 1:00pm Friday, January 13, 2012 at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home with Reverend Myke Templeton officiating and burial to follow in New Macedonia Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00pm Thursday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home and from 10:00am to 1:00pm Friday at the funeral home.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice of Western Kentucky, 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, KY 42301-9989. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
