Eurath Alexander Adkins, 96, of Owensboro

 

OWENSBORO, KY - Eurath Alexander Adkins, 96, of Owensboro, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2012, at her home.

She was born on May 7, 1915 in Wolfe County, KY to the late Robert and Callie Spencer Alexander. She was a member of Third Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Adkins in December 1988 and by a sister, Rhoda Alexander Adkins in November 1991. She loved spending time with her family, studying the Bible, reading, exercising and gardening.

Survivors include her son, Troy Adkins and wife, Rubene of Owensboro; daughter, Janice Adkins Boone of Owensboro; five grandchildren, Karen Boone Mellon (Don), Robert Boone (Lynn), Jonathan Boone (Misty) all of Owensboro, Troy M. Adkins, II of Manhattan, NY and Tara Renee Whitledge (Paul) of Henderson, KY; six great grandchildren, Ryan Boone, Seth Boone, Sean Boone, Kate Mellon, Lilli Boone and Paige Boone; a brother, Roy Alexander of Pikeville, KY and several nieces and nephews.

Services are at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2012, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday and after 9:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice of Western Kentucky, 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, KY 42301 in memory of her husband, Morris Adkins.
