OWENSBORO, KY - Charlie Von Hall, 106, of Owensboro, KY passed away Saturday, January 14, 2012, at Bon Harbor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was of the Pentecostal faith, a retired coal miner of 30 years and a veteran of the United States Army and served in World War II.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Lula L. Hall; two daughters, Mary Stites and Anna (William) Bristow, a son Bobby (Cheryl) Hall; six grandchildren, Michelle (Timmy) Fitzgerald, Teresa (John) Rybicki, Tina (Mike) Mills, Lee Stites, Jennifer (Jeremy) Ruth and Nick (Brandy) Hall; eight great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren all of Owensboro; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He enjoyed riding his bicycle for 30 years, collecting and recycling aluminum cans, playing cards but most of all enjoyed spending time with his loved ones.
Services are held at 1:00pm, Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 4 to 8 p.m. and after 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
