OWENSBORO, KY - Kathlyn Lindsey Dishman, 97, of Owensboro, Kentucky went to her heavenly reward and into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, January 14, 2012. She passed away at Owensboro Place Care and Rehabilitation.
She was born on June 1, 1914 to the late Jesse and Mary Agnes Lindsey and lived in Owensboro all her life except for three years during World War II, when she lived in Seattle, Washington and New Orleans, Louisiana, while her husband served in the Army. She was preceded in death by her lifelong love, Joseph "Icky" Dishman in 1998. They were married 66 years.
She worked many years downtown at Salms, Penney's, Dawson Shoes, S.W. Andersons and Settle Memorial Pre-School. She retired from the Daviess County Public Library Children's Room. She and Joe volunteered many years through Mercy Hospital and Daviess County Hospital and the Owensboro Museum of Fine Arts. She enjoyed needle work and was an avid reader. She is a member of Owensboro Christian Church.
She is lovingly remembered by two daughters, Pattie Stallings (Maurice "MO") of Owensboro and Jo Delle Williams (Michael) of Carbondale, IL; three granddaughters, Charissa Williams Eaton (Bob), Crystal Stallings (Mark Reidel) and Lindsey Williams Hammack (Brad).
Much, much gratitude is expressed to the wonderful and caring staff of Owensboro Place Care and Rehabilitation. What a caring and loving group of people!
Services are at 11:00a.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2012, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Entombment will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Owensboro, Ky. Visitation is from 2:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. on Monday and from 10:00a.m until 11:00a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
