Della Y. McCoy, 94, of Owensboro, Kentucky

 

OWENSBORO, KY - Della Y. McCoy, 94, of Owensboro, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2012, at Carmel Home in Owensboro.

She was born on May 7, 1917 in Whitesville, KY to the late Judson Thomas and Matilda Yates. She had been employed by General Electric Company for over 40 years and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She loved working puzzles, doing embroidery and cross stitching and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Cletus Johnson; her second husband, Gerald McCoy; four brothers, James E. Yates, Herman Allen Yates, Bill Yates and Andrew Yates and by two sisters, Clara Logsdon and Mary Livers.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Manley (Joe) of Masonville, KY; her son, Roy E. Johnson (Jeannie) of Owensboro; four grandchildren, Kim Rhinerson (Tommy) of Owensboro, Jeff Manley (Melanie) of Russellville, KY, Kelly Worth (Michael) and Todd Johnson both of Owensboro and eight great grandchildren.

Services are at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 20, 2012, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Owensboro. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Owensboro. Visitation is from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 9:00-9:30 a.m. on Friday at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro where prayers will be said at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Carmel Home, 2501 Old Hartford Road, Owensboro, KY 42303.
