Reverend Wavie L. Sinnett, 76, of Owensboro, Kentucky

 

OWENSBORO, KY - Reverend Wavie L. Sinnett, 76, of Owensboro, Kentucky went to be with Jesus, Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at his home with his family by his side.

He was born March 3, 1935. He was the pastor of Nickel Ridge Pentecost Church for twenty-one years and played the electric bass for years. He retired as a glazier for General Glass Company and worked many years at Kentucky Mirror & Plate Glass. He enjoyed preaching and serving Jesus. He loved his family, knife collecting, Rough River Lake, U.K. basketball and tinkering with projects. He loved his church members and the children of the church very much. Wavie never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Elizabeth Sinnett; a sister, Margaret Clark and a daughter, Lena Diane Sinnett.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Poole Sinnett; his children, Gary Sinnett (Linda), Rosa M. Sinnett and Mary Sinnett-Cline (Robby) all of Owensboro; grandchildren, Chad Gray (Stacy), Aaron Sinnett (Heidi), Phillip Sinnett, Lydia and Isaac Hobdy, Bobby Cline and Alline Cline all of Owensboro and Krista Reynolds (Brad) of Pellville, KY and great grandchildren, Parker Gray, Jillian Johnson, Rylie Gray, Ethan Thompson and Jacob Reynolds. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many, many friends.

Services are at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2012, at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro, KY with Reverend Don Taylor and Reverend Clettis Sinnett officiating. Burial will follow in Nickel Ridge Cemetery in Daviess County, KY. Visitation is from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday and after 9:00 a.m. on Saturday at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro, KY.
