James L. (Jim) Easton

 

OWENSBORO, KY - James L. (Jim) Easton passed away Saturday, January 21, 2012, at Hillcrest Health Care Center in Owensboro.

He was born in Hancock County, Kentucky on December 22, 1921, to the late Jethro and Mabel Snyder Easton. Jim loved the Lord. He was a veteran, a member of Christ Community Church and a member of Owensboro Masonic Lodge #130 for 62 years. He enjoyed gardening, being with family, spending the winters in Florida and watching basketball He was retired from Modern Building Products and Publix Markets in Florida.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Easton, and a sister, Geneva Basham.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Marjorie; three sons, Gwen O. Easton of Jacksonville, FL, and Jerry and James D. Easton both of Owensboro; a daughter, Deborah J. de Caussin and her husband, Norman of Owensboro; a sister-in-law, Teresa Easton; four grandsons, James Russell Easton (Gloria), Jimmy L. Easton, James Adrian de Caussin (Jessica) and Ryan de Caussin; two granddaughters, Bonnie Easton and Julie Gadbois; two great granddaughters, Ariana Gadbois and Sophia Easton; one special young lady, Rachel Hancock and his special pet cat, Bandit.

A celebration of life service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Christ Community Church, 1220 Center Street in Owensboro, with Myke Templeton officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be from 3:00-5:00 p.m. on Thursday at the church. James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro is in charge of arrangements. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Diabetes Association, Suite 114, 6415 Castleway W. Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46250.
