DUE TO HEAVY SNOWS IN WESTERN KENTUCKY...WIDESPREAD 6 TO 12 INCH SNOWFALL AMOUNTS HAVE HAULTED AREA TRAVEL. ISOLATED 15 INCH AMOUNTS HAVE BEEN REPORTED. DRIFTS UP TO A FOOT AND A HALF HAVE ALSO BEEN REPORTED. THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM SITUATION AND TRAVEL SHOULD BE AVOIDED IF AT ALL POSSIBLE. (National Weather Service)

 

HENDERSON, KY - Earl H. Stanley, age 84, of Henderson, KY passed away at 10:07 AM, Saturday, February 11, 2012, at The Lucy Smith King Care Center.

Mr. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Stanley and Mary Henning Stanley , son, Paul Joseph Stanley and granddaughter, Emma Lee Stone.

Mr. Stanley was a member of the Bellfield Baptist Church. He was retired from Alcan Aluminum where he had worked as a maintenance mechanic for 22 years. He served in the Infantry in the US Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed vegetable gardening and coaching youth baseball.

Survivors include: Wife of 60 years June Stanley; 4 Sons: Jonathan Earl Stanley , wife Kay, of Henderson, KY., Michael Scott Stanley, wife Melodie, of Henderson, KY, Shane Kurtz, wife Angela, of Henderson, KY, Wayne Kurtz of Oklahoma City, OK; 1 Daughter: Vanessa Lynn Stone, husband Jason, of Henderson, KY; 1 Sister: Lois Murphy of Peavey, KY; 5 Grandchildren, Lindsey Greer, J. Neil Stanley, Elizabeth Hudnall, Jeston Stone, and Hannah Kurtz; 2 Great Grandchildren, Anthony and Isaac Hudnall; Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Benton Glunt Funeral Home, Henderson, KY. Dr. Phillip Bassinger will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Henderson, KY.

Friends may call from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, February 13, 2012 and from 9:00 AM until service time on Tuesday at Benton Glunt Funeral Home Henderson, KY.
