Jonathan David Coomes, 29, of Henderson, KY

 

HENDERSON, KY - Jonathan David Coomes, 29, of Henderson, KY, passed away February 14, 2012 in Henderson County, KY.

He was born January 15, 1983 in Daviess County, KY to Frankie and Leann Coomes. Jonathan was a Lieutenant with the City of Henderson Fire Department. He was of the catholic faith, enjoyed duck hunting and was a member of the Dive Team with the Fire Department in Henderson.

Surviving is his wife, Miranda Coomes, his children, Makayla Lynn Coomes, Benjamin Ryan Coomes and Alexander Michael Coomes all of the home. He is also survived by his parents, Frankie and Leann Coomes of Sorgho, a sister, Susan Howard-Clint of Knottsville, two brothers, Kevin Coomes and Nicholas Coomes both of Sorgho, grandparents, Joseph and Jean Coomes and Malcolm and Freda Millay all of Stanley, mother and father-in-law, Mike and Karen Sweat of Owensboro, a nephew, Avery Love of Knottsville, a niece, Addison Sweat of Perry County, IN and a Nephew Isaac Howard of Knottsville.

Services will be 2:00pm Saturday, February 18, 2012 at St. Peter Catholic Church with Father Pat Bittel officiating and burial to follow in St. Peter Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2:00pm to 8:00pm Friday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home and from 9:00am to 1:00pm Saturday at the funeral home. Prayers will be 6:00pm Friday.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to The Jonathan D. Coomes Children's Benefit at any US Bank location. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
