Dellarie McGrail, Henderson

HENDERSON, KY - Dellarie McGrail, Henderson, passed away at 12:43 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011, at St. Anthony's Hospice Lucy Smith King Care Center.

Dellarie was born in Baskett to Claudia and Cecle McCommac. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Temple.

She had worked as a bookkeeper for several Henderson and Evansville businesses, including the Henderson County school board. After her retirement, Dellarie worked at the Kentucky Tourism Office at the log cabin on U.S. 41-North in Henderson, which was probably one of her favorite jobs, telling visitors about her beloved Kentucky.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert McGrail; her parents, Claudia and Cecle McCommac; six sisters who were her very best friends, Nellie Miles, Stella Wimber, Mary Barclay, Mildred Keach, Claudia Bradshaw and Clara Cox; and one brother, Edward McCommac.

Survivors include one daughter, Julie Frank and her husband, Clem, of Evansville; one grandson, Tony Goben of Evansville; one sister, Nina Hall and her husband, Dorris, of Henderson; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews, each of whom were her favorite.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. Dr. Tim Hobbs and the Rev. Mary M. Wrye will officiate. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery.

Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday and until service time Friday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Immanuel Baptist Temple, Community Baptist Church or St. Anthony's Hospice.
