He was born Feb. 3, 1935, in Newburgh. He retired from Alcoa Industries where he was a mill operator for many years and had also worked at Philco Ford in Dayton, Ohio. His spiritual advisor was the Rev. Todd M. Robertson of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church. Irvin loved his dogs, grooming his yard, socializing with his neighbors, fishing and caring for his autistic grandson, Jarred "Man Man" Wilson.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Corene E. Bester Sallee; one daughter, Dora Wilson and her husband, Richard, of Henderson; one son, Jeffery Sallee and his wife, Daniela, of Evansville; five grandchildren, Joshua Wilson of Louisville, Jarred Wilson of Henderson and Josiah Sallee, Jaden Sallee and Jeremiah Sallee, all of Evansville; one brother, Jerry Lowery and his wife, Regina, of Evansville; two sisters, Sylvia Sallee-Robinson and her husband, Bernard, of Stafford and Brenda Shaheed and her husband, Hon. Judge David, of Indianapolis; a host of relatives and friends.
Services will be at noon Saturday at Alexander East Chapel. The Rev. Todd M. Robertson will officiate. Private burial services will be held.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
