He was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Richard was a retired technician with Big Rivers Transmission and an avid University of Kentucky fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Anna Hosty; and one brother, Stephen Hosty, II.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Sherrel Ann Ralph Hosty; one sister, Charlotte Gloster of Brooklyn, N.Y.; nieces and nephews; and he was the father of several godchildren.
Services will be at noon Wednesday at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. Father Anthony J. Shonis will officiate. Entombment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and until 11 a.m. Wednesday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home, where prayers will be said at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society or St. Anthony's Hospice.
Pallbearers will be Doug Evans, Chris Evans, Jeremy Ralph, Jason Wright, Monty Ralph and Glenn Bentley.
