William Romain (Bill) Hicks, age 71, of New Concord, KY

MURRAY, KY - William Romain (Bill) Hicks, age 71, of New Concord, KY died at 7:00pm Sunday at his home. He was of the Baptist faith and a Crain Operator and Steel Worker at Bandarrs Steel. He enjoyed being on the lake.

Mr. Hicks was born June 3, 1941 in Model, TN to the late William T. & Vannie Olene (Fox) Hicks. His father in law; James Noel Smith also preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife; Sarah Ann (Smith) Hicks, to whom he was married Sept. 14, 1957, one daughter; Rida Williams (Greg), two sons; Earl Hicks (Cheryl) and Teddy Hicks (Debbie), and one sister; Loretta Berberich (Lou), all of Murray, KY, five grandchildren; Stephanie L. Phillips (Justin), Melissa Millard (Jerry), Justin Hicks (VaRhonda), Victoria Herndon (Jeremy) and Autumn Baker (Jarod), five great grandchildren; his mother in law; Della May Smith Wheatley (Walter), of Paris, TN, three brothers in law: Terry Smith (Liz) ,of Murray, KY, Melvin Smith (Wanda), of New Concord, KY, and James Ed Smith (Debbie), of McKenzie, TN, and several aunts and uncles.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00am Wednesday at Hicks Cemetery with Rev. James Ed Smith officiating. Friends may visit from 4:00pm until 8:00pm Tuesday at YORK FUNERAL HOME.
