Melba Harris Downs, age 64, of Robards, KY

HENDERSON, KY - Melba Harris Downs, age 64, of Robards, KY, passed away at 9:50 AM, Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at her home under the care of St. Anthony's Hospice.

Ms. Downs was preceded in death by her husband Johnny Downs, son Bobby Sumpter, parents Mickey Harris and Bob and Elizabeth Graham, and a brother William Harris.

She was retired from Audubon Metals. She loved to play cards, fish and to garden.

Survivors include: Companion of 17 years: Bob Miller Robards, KY; 2 Daughters: Sheila Turner Henderson, KY, Sherri O'Nan Henderson, KY; 2 Step-Sons: Jeff Downs and John Downs Both of Evansville, IN; 7 Sisters: Nita Massey Henderson, KY, Lisa Dooley Spottsville, KY, Judy Sowards Henderson, KY, Cherry Morris Henderson, KY, Janet Patrick Henderson, KY, Aloma Berry GA, Maleta Southers OH; 2 Brothers: Robert Graham Henderson, KY, Roger Harris Spottsville, KY ; 4 Grandchildren: Courtney Turner, Mitchell Turner, Peyton Sauer, and Reid Blaine; 7 Step-Grandchildren; Nieces and Nephews.

Private Graveside Services will be held at Fairmont Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home, Henderson, KY.
