Louwhelm Phelps, age 90, of Henderson, KY

HENDERSON, KY - Louwhelm Phelps, age 90, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 7:12 PM, Thursday, December 6, 2012, at St. Anthony's Lucy Smith King Care Center.

Louwhelm started at the young age of 11 years old, taking care of and helping out with her family. She had always been the anchor of the family. She was there for family and friends for life's most important advice. Her source of guidance was always based on what Scripture said, she stupassed away the Bible constantly. Louwhelm was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses of Henderson for over 70 years. She was an avid reader of all books but especially enjoyed reading her Bible daily. Some of her best memories were going to Ken's Corner in the 50's and 60's with her best friend, Irene Christian. They always shared a piece of pie over close conversation and a lot of laughter.

She was preceded in death by two brothers Richard and Bobby Gibson, a sister Rose Gibson Whitfield, and grandson Chad Alan Phelps.

Survivors include: Husband of 70 years: Taylor Phelps, Sr. Henderson, KY; 1 Daughter: Shirley Phelps O'Dell Henderson, KY; 1 Son: "Sonny" Taylor Phelps, Jr. Henderson, KY; 1 Sister: Dovie Sowards Henderson, KY; 5 Grandchildren: Christina Lynn Gregg, Cherrie Dawn Schmidt, Shawn Travis Phelps, Vickie Radcliff and Sabrina Rodgers; 8 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great Great-Grandchildren; Nieces and Nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to Louwhelm's Memorial Service at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses ,480 Klutey Park Plaza Drive, Henderson, KY.
