Edna Katherine O'Nan, age 86, of Henderson, Ky

HENDERSON, Ky. - Edna Katherine O'Nan, age 86, of Henderson, Ky., passed away at 10:15 PM, Saturday, December 22, 2012, at Methodist Hospital, Henderson, Ky.

After graduating from Barrett Manual Training Center in 1944 she married Leo Eugene "Gene" O'Nan on December 23, 1944. Mrs O'Nan was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. She was a loving Mother and homemaker. She loved to dance even from a very young age. Edna's favorite hobbies were sewing, cooking and gardening. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Mrs. O'Nan was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years: Leo Eugene "Gene" O'Nan, 2 brothers: Lawrence Crandall Benson and William "Bill" Benson, 2 sisters: Lola Edwards and Opal Woodard, I son: James Edward O'Nan (at birth)

Edna is survived by 5 daughters: Linda Jenkins and husband Steve, Mayfield, Ky., Marsha Ward and husband Larry, Tiline, Ky., Pam Dickens and husband Tommy, Whitesville, Ky., Karen Martin and husband Michael, Henderson, Ky., Rosemary Bridges and husband Steve, Henderson, Ky.,
3 Sons: Dennis O'Nan and wife Tempe, Starkville, MS., Phil O'Nan and wife Robin, Starkville, MS., and Mark O'Nan, Henderson, Ky.
1 sister: Joann Yates, Corydon, Ky.
1 Brother: Pascal Benson, Henderson, Ky.

7 Great-Great Grandchildren
Nieces and Nephews

Relatives and friends are invited to Edna's Life Celebration from 2:00-8:00 PM, Wednesday, December 26, 2012 and again on Thursday 8:00-9:30 AM at Tapp Funeral Home, Henderson, Ky. A Prayer Service will be held at 6:00 PM Wednesday evening.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Larry McBride at 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Henderson, KY. Burial will follow at St. Louis Cemetery, Henderson, Ky.
