Curtis Bethel Adams, 81, of Henderson, KY

HENDERSON, Ky. - Curtis Bethel Adams, 81, of Henderson, KY passed away Saturday February 16, 2013 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville.

He was born in Cairo, KY on June 16, 1931 to James William Adams Sr. and Verdie Ellen (Crowley) Adams. He was retired from Eaton Axle and was a US Army Veteran. He was a 58 year member of Zion Baptist Church where he also taught youth Sunday School. He was a member of the Masonic Jerusalem Lodge # 9 and was also a Past Master of the Poole Lodge. He was also a 32nd degree Scottish Rite. Curtis was the owner of The Gun Runner Gun shop and was a lifelong UK basketball fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers: James William “Pete” Adams and George Adams, sister Mary Frances Hoppenstedt and step-great-granddaughter Audrey Nicole Dailey.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years Martha Joan (Galloway) Adams; Son: Michael James Adams and wife Janice of Morganfield; Daughter: Maura Lynn (Adams) Heath and husband James William of Henderson; Brother: Charles Ray Adams and wife Mary (Worth) of Anderson, Indiana; 2 Grandchildren: Jared Wade Heath; Morgan Lynn Heath and Fiancé Michael Aaron Scott; Step-grandson: Brandon Michael Dailey; 2 Step-great-grandsons: Bryce and Trevor Dailey; Several Nieces and Nephews.

Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday February 20, 2013 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel.

Rev. Andy Weaver will officiate.

Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery in Henderson.

Visitation will be Tuesday 4-8 PM and Wednesday 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Michael Scott, Brennon Bickwermert, Phil Storm, J.D. Traylor, George Hoppenstedt, Brandon Dailey
