HENDERSON, Ky. - James (Buddy) Poole departed this life at 8:25am on Monday, February 25, 2013 in Henderson, KY.
Buddy Poole was originally from Robards, KY. He left western KY at an early age to begin a career in the oil and gas industry in West Virginia. In a career spanning nearly 50 years he held various positions with oil and gas drilling and energy related companies in West Virginia and Virginia. His most recent position was owner / operator of J. H. Poole Construction Company located in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Before returning home to western KY in 2008 he served as a member of the Virginia Oil and Gas Association, Independent Oil and Gas Association of West Virginia, KY Oil and Gas Association and Tennessee Oil and Gas Association. Buddy had a keen expertise of equipment and a love of the outdoors. He had a unique way of bringing both together.
Buddy Poole was preceded in death by his Father, Warren Poole; his Mother, Lucille Poole; and four brothers, Mims, Charles, Robert and Ray.
His survivors include Son, J. Michael Poole of Charleston, West Virginia; Daughter, Miranda J. Cohen along with Son in Law, Brad R. Cohen M.D.; and Grandchildren, Carla and Carrie all from Nashville, Tennessee.
Also surviving Buddy was his Brother, Joseph Leroy Poole from Henderson, KY, and his Sisters, Martha Helen Harris from Owensboro, KY; Dorothy Bennett from Beaver Dam, KY; Hallie Denton from Robards, KY; and Mary Nell Hobgood of Sebree, KY; and his Sister In Law Brenda Poole from Evansville, Indiana.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of Buddy Poole's life from 2:00pm to 6:00pm on Wednesday, February 27th at Tapp Funeral Home in Henderson, KY. Funeral services will then be held at 6:00pm. Entombment will follow at Tyler Mountain Memorial Gardens in Cross Lanes, West Virginia.
All arrangements are entrusted to Tapp Funeral Home in Henderson, KY.
