HENDERSON, Ky. - Virble (West) Brann, 86, of Henderson, KY passed away Wednesday February 27, 2013 at 7:59 PM at Lucy Smith King Care Center.
She was born in Henderson County to Herman and Nellie (Gish) West on August 29, 1926. She was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Henderson. She was a devoted mother and homemaker. Virble taught Sunday School for many years at Geneva Missionary Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Walker Brann, 2 daughters: Nancy Brann Dale Hare and Deloris Brann Pierce, grandson Joshua Ryan Brann, 2 brothers: Shirley West and John West, 2 sisters Corrine Huffman and Dorothy Ethleen Mattingly and a son-in-law Sammy LaRue.
She is survived by 4 children: Bruce Brann and wife Kalah of Robards; Roxann LaRue of Robards, Stephen Ralph Brann and wife Amy Lynn of Henderson, Paul Brann and wife Lenita Reasor-Brann of Henderson; 1 Sister: Frances Clary of Spottsville; 2 Brothers: Herman “Gene” West and wife Charlotte of Evansville, IN, Bill “Sonny” West and wife Shirley of Henderson; 18 Grandchildren; 23 Great-grandchildren; Several Great-great-grandchildren; Nieces and nephews.
Services will be 1:30 PM Saturday March 2, 2013 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. Bro. David Simpson and Bro. Bill Patterson will officiate.
Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery in Henderson.
Visitation will be Friday 4-8PM and Saturday 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to charity of choice.
Pallbearers will be Stephen Brann Jr., Jonathan Earl Brann, Jason Scott Brann, Samuel Charles LaRue, Stephen Jake Pritchett and Mitchell Ashby. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill “Sonny” West, Herman “Gene” West and Frances Clary.
