Glendle Gayle Ellis Sr. age 72, of Henderson, Ky

HENDERSON, Ky. - Glendle Gayle Ellis Sr. age 72, of Henderson, Ky. passed away at 5:42 PM, Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Methodist Hospital.

Glendle was born in 1940 to Lomer and Irene Ellis. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Bobby Joe Ellis and Darrell Rex Ellis.

Glendle was a member of the First Christian Church with strong faith in the Lord. He was a US Navy Veteran, softball coach and a boy scout leader. He was a very hard worker and had worked as a mechanic at Big Rivers for 24 years. Glendle's favorite hobbies were grilling, gardening and woodworking, but he also loved Nascar and was an avid UK fan. Most of all he was a family man with a great love for his wife, children and grandchildren.

Survivors include: Wife of 54 years: Jennie Lou Ellis; 1 Daughter: Margaret Irene Ellis-Higdon and husband Scott of Bristow, Virginia; 3 Sons: G. Gayle Ellis Jr. and wife Kathy of Glasgow, Ky, Donald W. Ellis and wife Marcia of Schenectady, New York, Tony Lee Ellis and wife Janice of Owensboro, Ky; 12 Grandchildren: Amanda, Carrie, Jennifer, Chad, Brandon, Crystal, Bobby Joe, Sabrina, Tabitha, Brittany, C.J. and Mary; 8 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great-Great Grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to Glendle's Life Celebration from 2-8 PM Saturday, March 2, 2013 and again on Sunday starting at 10 AM at Tapp Funeral Home, Henderson, Ky. The funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday at Tapp Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fairmont Cemetery in Henderson, Ky. where military honors will be rendered by the American Legion Worsham Post #40.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to: Riverview School, 133 S. Water St. Henderson, Ky. 42420.
