Carol Mattingly Hosmon, age 97, of Henderson, KY

HENDERSON, Ky. - Carol Mattingly Hosmon, age 97, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 11:16 PM, Monday, March 4, 2013, at her home under the care of St. Anthony's Hospice.

Carol was a faithful member of Reed Community Church and a retired hairdresser. She was very active at the Gathering Place, where she enjoyed exercising, playing with the Kitchen Band, and taking part in the Senior Games. Carol loved her family dearly.

Mrs. Hosmon was born February 17, 1916 in Reed, KY. She was the youngest child of the late Thomas D. and Susan Littler Likins. Also preceding her in death was, her first husband Carl A. Mattingly, second husband William L. Hosmon, a brother Reuben Likins and six sisters Nettie Adams, Lily Klein, Lura Wood, Leora Pfingston, Florence Augenstein Cravens, and Darah Heppler Watkins.

Survivors include: 3 Daughters: Sue Heppler Henderson, KY, Bonita Hatfield Marion, KY, Nancy Phillips Reed, KY; 7 Grandchildren; 11 Great Grandchildren; 7 Great Great-Grandchildren; Nieces and Nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to Carol's Life Celebration from 3:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home and again on Friday starting at 10:00 AM until service time at Reed Community Church. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 8, 2013 at the church with Reverend Hollis Marshall officiating. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson, KY.

The family of Carol would like to thank her caregivers: Norma Smith, Lana Cates, Beth Mills and the staff of St. Anthony's Hospice.
