William Ralph Beals, age 70, of Corydon, KY

HENDERSON, Ky. - William Ralph Beals, age 70, of Corydon, KY, passed away at 6:21 AM, Sunday, March 24, 2013, at St. Anthony's Lucy Smith King Care Center, Henderson, KY.

Mr. Beals was an Air Force veteran having severed during the Vietnam War. In 1962 he married Shirley O'Dell at Audubon Baptist Parsonage in Henderson by the Reverend Dillard West. He then started working for Southern Bell in 1967 until retiring in 2001 with AT&T. William was a Deacon for 9 years at By Faith Church, where he was also the building fund coordinator for 8 years. He was Past Exulted Ruler of the Elks Lodge #206 and a KY Colonel. In his spare time William enjoyed scuba diving, playing his guitar, singing, gardening and giving fresh produce to friends and family. He also enjoyed fishing and watching sporting events.

Survivors include: Wife of 51 years: Shirley Beals Corydon, KY; 2 Sons: Darrell Beals Belleville, IL, Brian Beals Ocean Springs, MS; 1 Brother: Aaron Lee Beals Henderson, KY; 7 Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren; Several Nieces and Nephews.

The Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at New Beginnings Missionary Baptist Church, 8959 US HWY 60 East Henderson, KY with the Rev. J. Keith Hurt, Rev. John Smith, and Rev. Don Haire officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the American Legion Worsham Post #40.
