Local Business Owner Arrested on Trafficking Charges

drug investigation 03 300MADISONVILLE, Ky. (3/29/13) – The Madisonville Police Department (MPD) has, over the last year, put forth significant efforts in battling drug issues throughout the Hopkins County area. A new example in this ongoing effort was seen today, March 29, as MPD Officers made another impact against the illegal drug industry by arresting a local business owner involved in synthetic drug trafficking.

According to MPD Spokesman Robert Carter, Vice Narcotics Unit launched an undercover operation in an attempt to identify key individuals and locations directly connected to the procuring and distribution of illegal synthetics in the Madisonville/Hopkins County area.

Today, a search warrant was executed at Fast lane on 422 East Center Street. The investigation resulted in thousands of dollards of illegal synthetics and drug paraphernalia recovered and removed from distribution. In addition, an undisclosed amount of currency was recovered.

As of this date, the investigations are ongoing into various drug-related cases throughout the area.
