HENDERSON, Ky. - Esther Edna (Fox) Brown, 89, of Spottsville passed away Monday April 22, 2013 at 8:15 AM at her residence.
She was born in Adel, Iowa on March 2, 1924 to Crosby Bruce and Mary (Flynn) Fox.
She was an elementary school teacher at Weaverton and a volunteer at Spottsville Elementary. She also taught adult literacy classes at Henderson Community College. Esther was the recipient of the first KY LUV award. She enjoyed her family, church, garden and birds. She was also a member of Spottsville Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Owen “Lost John” Brown and daughter Edna Kathleen Burton, sister Luella Fox and brother Henry Fox.
She is survived by 1 daughter: Caroline Henderson and husband Mark of Henderson; 4 Sons: David E. Brown, Jesse Roy Brown, John Michael Brown all of Henderson, William Robert Brown of Spottsville; Son –in-law: Timothy Burton of Spottsville; 1 sister: Marjorie Kimble of Sacramento, CA; 10 grandchildren; 8 Great grandchildren; Nieces and Nephews.
Services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday April 24, 2013 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. Pastor Jeff Shouse and Bro. Hal Branson will officiate.
Burial will be in Baskett Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday 3-8PM and Wednesday 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Spottsville Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be David Brown, Jesse Roy Brown, John Michael Brown, William Robert Brown, Mark Henderson and Timothy Burton. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeffery Scott Brown and Cody Ryan Brown.
