Ohio County Resident Honored as ‘GRADD Volunteer of the Year’

vol 400

Little serves on GRADD’s Family Caregiver Support Program (FCSP) Advisory Committee, which coordinates education, training, support groups and respite for individuals caring for older adults and for grandparents raising their grandchildren.

In addition, she has volunteered with numerous other organizations, including: Ohio County Senior Center, Dogwood Retreat Assisted Living, Girls Inc., Kentucky Audubon Council, Kentucky Cemetery Association, and Friends of the Daviess County Public Library.

“When you look at Brenda’s extensive résumé, it’s hard to believe she’s not twins or even triplets,” said Monie Sosh, FCSP coordinator for GRADD.

Little has also devoted much of her life to nature education for children, designing facilities and programming for students at Southern Elementary School and Wayland Elementary School in Ohio County, as well as Deer Park Elementary School and Camp Pennyroyal Girl Scout camp in Daviess County.

The GRADD Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon is held each spring to honor the region's many dedicated volunteers serving in the AmeriCorps, State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP), Long Term Care Ombudsman, and Family Caregiver programs.
