Margaret Louise Cheaney, 89, of Hebbardsville

1doveHENDERSON, Ky. - Margaret Louise Cheaney, 89, of Hebbardsville passed away Monday May 27, 2013.

She was born July 17, 1923 in Henderson County to the late Emmett and Margaret Wingfield Glassco. A homemaker and talented crafter, Margaret Louise enjoyed painting, crocheting and creating decorative items for family and friends. She loved working in her yard, painstakingly tending to the many varieties of irises, roses and numerous other flowers. She was a long-time member of Immanuel Baptist Temple.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Hugh Bethel Cheaney in 2004, four brothers, William David Glassco, Sidney Glassco, Maurice Glassco, Aaron Glassco and sister Dolores Sauerheber.

Survivors include one son: Lewis R. Cheaney and wife Mary of Henderson; Sister: Doris Dale of Henderson; Brother: Emmett Wesley Glassco of Reed; 2 Grandsons: Jonathan Lewis Cheaney and wife Alisha of Colorado, Benjamin Wade Cheaney and wife Crystal of Henderson; 3 Great-grandsons: Conor Hugh Cheaney and Tyler Jonathan Cheaney of Colorado, Gavin Avery Cheaney of Henderson; 1 Great-granddaughter: Maryann Isabell Cheaney of Henderson; Nieces and Nephews.

Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday May 30, 2013 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. Rev. Jim Trader will officiate.

Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery in Henderson.

Visitation will be Wednesday 4-8PM and Thursday Noon until service time at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Immanuel Baptist Temple Triple L’s or Henderson Christian Community Outreach.
